About this project

Bob Fisher’s story doesn’t need to be told. It certainly ought to be though. There are few people in the Lake Minnetonka area that have the widespread recognition as Fisher.

At his shoe repair business, Fisher has dealt with thousands upon thousands of customers over his career. Some come away from Fisher’s shop unchanged. Other come away with smiles, or changed perspectives, or, in one instance detailed in the story, tears of joy. Fisher will take the time to learn about his customers, who are likely community members as well. But those customers may not know much about Fisher. We hope this changes all of that.

Fisher is a vehicle for awareness and generosity, which is how he wants it to be: Turning the focus to an issue larger than himself. Fisher has diligently worked to raise funds and awareness to combat homelessness and affordable housing issues in the west metro.

The story is about Fisher, who wants it to be about raising awareness. In a way, his story accomplishes that. He was a child that grew up with perspective, and he carries that with him today.
